A flood of opportunities

Recent storms in Asia has caused massive flooding in several countries having said that to most people flooding is a way of life and is a treasure chest of opportunities. Take for example Ford use this to advertise in social media how good their SUVs are:

However they tend to have neglected the sedan in the background which is also a Ford :-)

Now if you are advertising Rolls Royce, this is not the most brilliant flyer on how luxurious the car is: it is so luxurious that you need a butler to drain water that comes in to the cabin and 18 people to push it out of flooded streets :-)

And if you buy two supercars make sure you can also afford a garage that don't flood

or protect your car like this:

When you buy a car, make sure the alarms work even in flood waters :-) (notice the blinking lights underwater)

And for those teens who cant afford to be away from their video games, just make sure the power cables are not under water:

If you have invented the ultimate walk on water boots, make sure you have applied for patents, there will be more needing those:

While if you have discovered the new kind of transportation that works on flood waters before you go in it make sure it will not sink:

or perhaps simply use a jetski on city streets

Flood waters should never ever ruin your wedding day. You can make it more exciting by getting married on flooded streets :-) or surfing the flood or scuba diving your way to school or for a lost submarine to surface beside a shopping mall....

And don't forget to call in to tell your boss you can't make it to work today :-D

Missed Opportunities

Have you ever gotten an SMS telling you had a missed call, yet there is no record on your phone? If you had you're not the only one. This phenomenon is now more common in this day and age when Smart phones and tablets perform less reliably in terms of radio communications compared to older feature phones...

Problem with this missed calls are they could be a very big missed opportunity like all things in technology a missed opportunity cost a lot of money. Having said that the biggest missed opportunity in my perspective is BlackBerry, they missed the smartphone opportunity worth more than 80B$ per quarter to Apple and Samsung today.

To those who still holds share on BlackBerry its hard to find solace considering the company dont have much value today. What to do with your BlackBerry shares? The question is who might want to buy BlackBerry?

Let's see. They have poor products, bad hardware, bad software, poor ecosystem, bad management. Who wants any of those? The only way they can sell the company is to sell it in bits and pieces since some parts can still be valuable. The only potential buyer of BlackBerry and its entirety would be Chinese companies such as Huawei. BlackBerry is still a big brand in Indonesia, Malaysia, Middle East and South Africa, markets where Huawei have a successful presence and the acquisition will make sense even without the US market.

Having said that such acquisition will never be approved by the Canadian government nor US regulators. They would rather throw money to save it or let it go bankrupt like Nortel and will make a big mess of it where the only winners are lawyers.

EuroPark Response to Good Parking Experience

Is there a good customer experience in parking spaces?

Someone I know was in Oslo recently and got a parking ticket that says paid ticket was not visible from windscreen.... see photo below..

the irony is that the paid parking ticket is very visible on the windscreen...  The city of Oslo had recently embarked on an improvement program for their parking ticket machines allowing customers to pay with their mobile phones, giving better customer experiences. However I think they forgot to train their staff to deliver better customer experiences as well or they have hired blind parking inspectors :-)

The best experience I ever had on a parking space is in Dubai at the Mall of the Emirates, where they even wash your car when you park.. both car wash and parking are free... now that's a good customer experience...

Should other parking areas adopt this?
